THINGS YOU CAN DO TO ENHANCE YOUR TRIP
*Get a temple recommend if possible. Start working on it now. If you have your mission call, see if you can receive your endowment before we go. If you are unable to get a temple recommend before we go, don’t worry, you can still have an incredible experience being on temple grounds or waiting in the Visitors Center. We encourage you to do some family history to take names to the temple for baptisms. Read Joseph Smith History in the Pearl of Great Price. Study what steps Joseph took to “Learn for Himself”
*Read the Saints Book Volume 1. This book will give you detailed insights into the church’s history from 1815 to 1846. While visiting church sites, you will have a greater understanding and appreciation for these locations and the spirit there
*Brush up on your American history. We will be visiting sites of the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, Arlington Cemetery as well as many memorials and the Washington Mall. Each of these sites will have a more profound impact on you if you understand the sacrifices made
*Search your family history for ancestors who joined the church and lived in the locations we will be visiting. You might even be able to see the gravesites of ancestors. The more effort you put in, the greater experiences you will have
*Look up some of these places and learn about them - Times Square New York City, Amish Country, Niagara Falls, Notre Dame, Hershey Pennsylvania, Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio
*Earn some extra money to pay for your Fast Pass Plus – the $120 price will make for a great day at the front of the line to the best roller coasters in the world! We have your ticket to enter the park then you can upgrade to the Fast Pass Plus once inside – needs to be paid with credit or debit card only (in case of change in schedule DO NOT buy Fast Pass on-line before trip)
*Remember there are no laundry facilities available – pack enough & wear things twice! You will find a packing list on the Packing List tab on this site
*Please know we did our best to place you with roommates requested – sometimes it was just not possible to make it work but please be reassured that we spend very little time in the hotels and you will get to know many new friends on the trip. The rooming list is final, we will not be able to make changes because of flight arrangements and bus arrangements and rooming lists have been sent to the hotels
*There will be a new bus seating chart every day and you will rotate daily to ensure you get to know lots of new people! Sorry, no trading seats
